Apple could ditch USB ports on new MacBook Pro models

Apple is expected to reveal the new MacBook Air and Pro shortly. While we’ve heard quite a bit about the company’s intentions to implement a new touch OLED panel and a Touch ID sensor with the MacBook Pro, we’re now coming across a report which says that the company will probably ditch the USB ports on the new MacBook Pro.

Further, it is said that Apple will only release a 13.3-inch model of the 2016 MacBook Air, meaning that the 11.6-inch model is getting the boot. This could be major for Apple considering the fact that the MacBook Air is one of the most popular MacBooks selling in the market right now.

These reports have stemmed from speculations and word from insider sources, so it’s not set in stone yet. However, given how accurate Apple sources are, we have no reason to dispute these claims at the moment.

Apple’s MacBook Pro and Air refreshes have been long overdue now with the market expecting to see some new hardware underneath. It is said that the Pro models will be available in 13.3 and 15.4-inch variants. In addition to the aforementioned Touch ID and OLED bar, we expect there to be the latest Intel silicon to be on board, although there have been conflicting reports on this matter.
